ABOUT THE CLUB

Welcome to Solent Raceway. The home of 1/12 scale RC stock car racing. Join our club and take part in the exciting action on our indoor oval track.

12TH OVAL CLASSES

1300 STOCK CARS

1300/1400 4-cell stock class using 1/12 stock car bodies. Close racing with simple, affordable setups—ideal for regular club competitors.

2L SALOON STOCKCARS

Modern 2-litre saloon stockcars with ABS bodies. A fast, lively class with plenty of tuning options and great side-by-side racing.

HOT RODS

Scale Hot Rods using lexan shells and can be powered by a 21T brushed or a 13.5T brushless Motor. High speed with precision driving—one of the quickest classes on the oval.

F2 STOCK CARS

Purpose-built F2 style stock cars. Strong contact-friendly racing and great for drivers who enjoy hard-fought heats and close pack action.

MINI STOCK

Mini stock use a short wheelbase GRP chassis with no suspension front or rear, which makes them sharp, bouncy, and sometimes downright awkward to drive. Add in close racing with external bumpers and limited contact allowed, and you’ve got a class where a tiny mistake (or a nudge) can spin you in an instant. That’s exactly why it’s such a challenge—and why it’s so rewarding when it clicks.

Mini Stocks are all about tyre choice and setup balance: get it right and the car feels planted and unstoppable; get it wrong and it can feel undriveable. Power is usually 17.5T brushless on 1S LiPo, with some clubs also allowing the same 4.8V brushed setup as 1300 to keep things accessible.
